Freecycle Brouhaha

Recently announced: that Freecycle accepted Waste Management as a sponsor. Some cried or thought "foul" or "traitor" or, even worse "corporate lackey!" Get real, people. Every organization, regardless of the purity of its mission, needs money to operate, and the money has to come from somewhere. Freecycle could pay for itself through fees to users (talk about a bigger brouhaha) or find sponsors through grants, advertising, gifts, etc. Waste Management has a vested interest in making its landfill more efficient (i.e. cheaper) by filling them more slowly, an interest supported by Freecycle's mission of keeping things out of the landfill. More power to Freecycle!
